Synopsis: The climax of the story!!

My Thoughts: Amazing! This final volume was so suspenseful! I had to keep myself from flicking through the pages. There was a surprise near the end. I am pleased with the ending, but I am sad that it is over. This is definitely one of my favorite manga of all time.

Synopsis:  Johnny and Charles are still dealing this their imprisonment. The past is slowly piecing together. (Sorry I suck at these!)

4 stars

My Thoughts: This is the farthest I have ever read in this series from my previous attempts. Let me say again, that I LOVE this series, and I have no idea why it took this long to read it (besides the fact that it not fully officially translated in English).

I am still loving it. There is so much more revealed in this volume. It is so exciting! I am not as confused because of all the stuff coming to light. I am upset with what is going on, but the author still is able to make me laugh at times.

Blurb: Together again at last after their excursion into Italy, it’s going to be a hot and heavy reunion for Charley and Rayflo. And apparently a short-lived one. Still on edge about Barry and his machinations, Rayflo is reluctant to get his favorite vassal involved and so as soon as they escape Yaoding, he’s off again.

My Thoughts: I really liked this volume. I feel I got a better understanding. There was more revealed. The nice scene from the end of the last volume carried over from the previous one. Their feelings for each other seemed to be confirmed in this volume.

Blurb: Charley, a cyborg vampire who does the Vatican’s dirty work, is the thrall of the local vampire playboy Johnny Rayflo. As the two fight crime-and each other-hilarity, violence and sacrilege ensue!

4 stars

My Thoughts: So, I had to re-read from the beginning (again … for the like the 3rd time) because it has been a year since my last try. I am not sure what my issues was last year because I LOVE this series. I am liking even more this time around.

I am getting a feel of the bigger picture this, now that I am paying attention. I am still kind of confused on some things. There are bunch of lovely scenes in this volume, but some are a little graphic. There are snippets of the past but never really explains, which I love. I also really liked the ending of this volume.

Pure Blood Volume 2Story/Art By: Akane Aoki
Japanese Title: Pure Blood
Status of Series: Complete (2 volumes)

Synopsis: Leon is a pure-blooded vampire that has chosen to peacefully coexist with humans. As a sign of his pure-blooded status, Leon shares a bond with a “deterrent,” Noah. Noah’s power suppresses the base instinct to drink human blood. Despite granting Leon this freedom, Noah still worries about his own unstable power and perceived weakness. Together, they investigate strange incidents and perform occult jobs. After all, even vampires have bills to pay. (MAL)

2 stars smallerMy Thoughts: There was development in this final volume, but it was not enough to redeem everything. The story was rather pointless and not even entertaining. I just enjoyed the art work, as stated in my review of volume one. There was zero romance between Noah and Leon. There would be a very good example of light shounen ai. Just hints and stuff.

3 stars My Thoughts: This manga has been on my to read list for a long time. I started reading it years ago, and was unable to finish it. At the time I liked the story, however, it seems rather bland now. I like the art and the characters. There is a lack of a true story line. Each chapter is just a random adventure. Since this series is so story, this is not good.

Vassalord 2

Blurb: Trouble seems to find Johnny and Charles. After dealing with a situation on a plane (and saving everyone on there) the duo are caught up in more suspicious activities.

4 starsMy Thoughts: This volume leads to me to believe that Johnny’s and Charles’ relationship is more complicated. They had more time with each other and I really wasn’t minding all the scenes with Johnny shirtless or nearly shirtless (haha). There are hints of past events here and there. There is also very little information about what trouble they are getting ready to get into. There seems to be a storm brewing. Things building up.

My Thoughts: I started reading series back in 2007, I believe. I had to put it on hold for several reasons. I fell in love with Johnny and Chris right away. The story is interesting because not all the information you want to know about isn’t shown right away. You want to read more to find out what is going on and truly understand what exactly they feel for each other. I have already read up to volume four, but I am rereading all of it.

Note: Tokyopop translated the first four volumes into English. In cause you don’t know, they went out of business. As far as I know, no other manga company has picked it up.
