Blood-Kissed Sky by J.A. London

Blood-Kissed-SkyBlurb: There’s nowhere left to hide. I thought vampires were our enemies – they controlled our lives, isolated our cities, and demanded our blood – until I met Victor. With Victor taking over as the new Lord Valentine, things were supposed to get better. Instead, they’re worse than ever.

Day Walkers, a new breed of vampires who can walk in the sun, are terrorizing the city. Blood supplies are low, and if Victor’s vampires don’t get enough, they will become infected with the Thirst – a disease that will turn them into mindless killers.

To stop it, I must journey across the desolate wasteland to the very place where the sickness began. I can only hope that the answers that await me are enough to save us all … before it’s too late.

My Thoughts: I could hardly put this book down! A lot happens in this book, and I am quite pleased. I like how things are building up. Like with the first book, you really don’t get bored. The ending was pretty sweet too. I can’t wait to start the final book.

Note: There is a printing error in this book, which I am not sure is true with all copies. Pages 188 through 220 are out of order. At first, I thought pages were missing. They are there, just messed up.

Darkness Before Dawn by J.A. London

Blurb: Only sunlight can save us. We built the wall to keep them out, to keep us safe. But it also makes us prisoners, trapped in what’s left of our ravaged city, fearing nightfall.

After the death of my parents, it’s up to me—as the newest delegate for humanity—to bargain with our vampire overlord. I thought I was ready. I thought I knew everything there was to know about the monsters. Then again, nothing could have prepared me for Lord Valentine . . . or his son. Maybe not all vampires are killers. Maybe it’s safe to let one in.

Only one thing is certain: Even the wall is not enough. A war is coming and we cannot hide forever.

My Thoughts: First off, I love the cover! The font is pretty awesome. I was fairly certain I would like this book based off the blurb. I never really got bored or uninterested. Even though, some things were predictable, I really enjoyed this book. I really liked the characters and the whole setting. I was very close to getting it five stars.

My Thoughts: Yes! My favorite character. I am also excited to see what Adam is doing. I have wanted for this novella for a while and I am sad there won’t be more the story for a while. This novella really didn’t have that much action, it was more adventurous. Still awesome.

My Thoughts: Most of this book took place at the beach house introduced in the first book. Events dragged on and on. There was little to no real action. I was completely bored for the most part. The exciting parts were rushed. I was overall displeased.

Note: I will not be continuing on with the Significance series.

My Thoughts: This book is kind of intense and innocent at the same time. The relationship between Caleb and Maggie is so strong. I was thinking I would have a tough time dealing with it as the book went along but I didn’t. Shelly Crane paints a good picture of what Maggie and Caleb are feeling, so it doesn’t seem so weird. Though this book ends in a weird place, I wonder what the reason of the series will be like.

Note: It almost took me a month to finish this book. Not for the reason you might think. Like I have mentioned on twitter, I have started working full time for the summer. I normally read when its nice a quite, which is impossible when my family is awake. I would read on my nights off (I work night shift). Now I am doing other things or just being lazy. I do read some at work, on breaks and such.

My Thoughts: At first, I really didn’t like Shi but he kind of grew on me a little. Carmen not so much. She just seems kind of odd. There seemed to be more intimate and romance moments in this book. However, this is probably my least favorite of the three books in the bundle.

Note: I found while reading the second book, that there will be more books in this series in the future. Also, there is the series that comes before this one. I will be reading neither. The stories are interesting and the world of the story is pretty cool but I want to move on to something else.

My Thoughts: As stated in the note, there is more to the story. I slightly confused at first, but the holes (at least I hope) were filled during the story. I liked both main characters. I even have accidentally tried to call my new dog Nico, which made me laugh.  There were several characters at the beginning and I had a hard time remembering who was what.

3 starsRead Via: Kindle (own it)

My Thoughts: This book, which in the last book in the bundle I bought, was very so slightly better. However, it does not hold my interest, so I will be dropping the series. I am not even sure what to say about it. There are just too many holes for me to really get into it. The action of the characters have me shaking my head. I just find several things hard to believe. For example, how can all seven of they boys like Snow? Highly unlikely. Then Christopher comes along and likes her too. That’s just too much. There are several other things that I dislike but I will not mention them.

My Thoughts: This is going down hill and fast. I will read the last book in my bundle and if things don’t become more interesting then I will drop this series. It is moving really slow. A lot of the important issues are not being addressed. That is always a big issues for me and I can hardly stand it. Snow is not thinking about what she is doing and is becoming really annoying.
